The Canarian en el Artist Alley del Salón del Cómic de Santa Cruz de Tenerife 2025

Del 23 al 26 de octubre de 2025, The Canarian ha participado en el Artist Alley del Salón del Cómic y la Ilustración de Santa Cruz de Tenerife, uno de los encuentros más importantes dedicados al dibujo, la ilustración y el cómic en Canarias.

Durante cuatro días compartimos espacio con artistas e ilustradores increíblemente talentosos llegados de distintas islas y también de fuera del archipiélago. El Artist Alley reunió a decenas de autores y creadivos, convirtiendo la plaza en un punto de encuentro lleno de dibujos, publicaciones, conversaciones y muchísimo talento.

Para The Canarian fue una experiencia especialmente bonita porque nos permitió conocer en persona a algunos artistas que ya habían colaborado con el proyecto y también descubrir nuevos ilustradores con los que esperamos colaborar en el futuro.

Además, muchísimas personas pudieron encontrar por primera vez los pósters, postales y publicaciones de The Canarian en Tenerife. Entre ilustradores, amantes del cómic, vecinos que pasaban por la plaza y turistas llegados de cruceros, se creó un ambiente muy especial alrededor del stand.

Durante esos días tuvimos la oportunidad de conversar con muchísimas personas sobre cultura, tradiciones y paisajes canarios a través de las ilustraciones del colectivo. Muchas de ellas terminaron llevándose a casa un pequeño pedazo de Canarias en forma de póster o postal ilustrada.

Ese intercambio constante con el público es precisamente una de las cosas más bonitas de participar en eventos como el Salón del Cómic: descubrir cómo personas de lugares y edades muy diferentes conectan con las islas a través de la mirada de los artistas de The Canarian.

La experiencia también confirmó algo que llevamos tiempo sintiendo: existe un enorme interés por descubrir una visión más artística, cercana y contemporánea de Canarias, contada por ilustradores que viven, observan e interpretan el archipiélago desde dentro.

The Canarian at the Artist Alley of the Santa Cruz de Tenerife Comic Fair 2025

From October 23rd to 26th, 2025, The Canarian took part in the Artist Alley at the Santa Cruz de Tenerife Comic and Illustration Fair, one of the most important events dedicated to drawing, illustration, and comics in the Canary Islands.

For four days, we shared the space with incredibly talented artists and illustrators from different islands as well as from outside the archipelago. The Artist Alley brought together dozens of authors and creatives, transforming the square into a vibrant meeting point filled with drawings, publications, conversations, and an incredible amount of talent.

For The Canarian, it was an especially meaningful experience because it allowed us to finally meet in person some of the artists who had already collaborated with the project, while also discovering new illustrators we hope to work with in the future.

Many people in Tenerife were also able to discover The Canarian’s posters, postcards, and publications for the very first time. Between illustrators, comic lovers, local residents passing through the square, and tourists arriving from cruise ships, a truly special atmosphere emerged around the stand.

During those days, we had the opportunity to speak with many people about Canarian culture, traditions, and landscapes through the collective’s illustrations. Many of them ended up taking home a small piece of the Canary Islands in the form of an illustrated poster or postcard.

That constant exchange with the public is precisely one of the most beautiful aspects of participating in events like the Comic Fair: discovering how people of very different ages and backgrounds connect with the islands through the perspective of The Canarian’s artists.

The experience also confirmed something we have been feeling for quite some time: there is a huge interest in discovering a more artistic, intimate, and contemporary vision of the Canary Islands, told by illustrators who live in, observe, and interpret the archipelago from within.
