Taller de dibujo del natural en LagOmar
El martes 30 de septiembre de 2025 vivimos una tarde muy especial en LagOmar junto al ilustrador Alessandro Pugiotto, autor de algunas de las portadas más queridas de The Canarian.
Organizamos un taller de dibujo del natural en uno de los lugares más mágicos de Lanzarote, rodeados de arquitectura volcánica, vegetación, cuevas y rincones imposibles que parecían hechos para ser dibujados.
La respuesta fue increíble y participaron muchas personas: ilustradores, artistas emergentes, amantes del dibujo y también personas que simplemente querían probar algo nuevo y vivir una experiencia creativa diferente.
Poco a poco se fue creando un grupo muy bonito y una energía especial entre todos los participantes. Durante varias horas compartimos técnicas, conversaciones, inspiración y distintas maneras de observar el entorno a través del dibujo.
Más allá del propio taller, lo más bonito fue ver cómo personas que no se conocían terminaron conectando gracias al arte y al paisaje que nos rodeaba.
Ese tipo de encuentros representan muy bien el espíritu de The Canarian: crear comunidad a través de la ilustración y redescubrir Canarias desde una mirada creativa y contemporánea.
Drawing Workshop at LagOmar
On Tuesday, September 30th, 2025, we experienced a very special afternoon at LagOmar together with illustrator Alessandro Pugiotto, the artist behind some of The Canarian’s most beloved covers.
We organized a live drawing workshop in one of Lanzarote’s most magical locations, surrounded by volcanic architecture, lush vegetation, caves, and surreal corners that seemed made to be sketched.
The response was incredible, with many people taking part: illustrators, emerging artists, drawing enthusiasts, and also people who simply wanted to try something new and enjoy a different kind of creative experience.
Little by little, a wonderful group atmosphere and a special energy grew among all the participants. For several hours, we shared techniques, conversations, inspiration, and different ways of observing the environment through drawing.
Beyond the workshop itself, the most beautiful part was seeing how people who had never met before ended up connecting through art and the landscape surrounding us.
These kinds of encounters perfectly represent the spirit of The Canarian: building community through illustration and rediscovering the Canary Islands through a creative and contemporary perspective.
